One important element of BData’s DNA is a commitment to helping association members reduce the gaps in health equity that have long existed in underserved communities. Research has shown that these communities, often defined by race and income, suffer a greater impact from major health issues than the population at large. And we understand our Association partners are always looking at ways to impact healthcare in underserved communities and drive closure in the health equity gap. With this in mind, BData has established a working relationship with Community Building Together (CBT), a non-profit, community health disruptor.
By creating secure research networks that fit an association’s clinical focus, and coupling them with our proprietary analytics platform, BData and CBT can provide association members with a channel to deliver targeted patient education outreach programs to patient groups that need them most.
Specifically, BData provides strategy, analytics and grant support for CBT and, in particular, its marquee program, Project North Star. The Project North Star initiative aims to improve community health outcomes in underserved communities with a multi-faceted approach designed to create better educational opportunities, better jobs and better health.
“Health, education and employment disparities are not separate issues. They are connected on many levels. Creating community-inspired solutions and joining together with healthcare associations and health systems allows us to address each issue more effectively by thinking of them in a holistic manner.”
