In 2025, BData collaborated with the Foundation for Women’s Cancer on the evaluation of a pioneering CHW Gynecologic Cancer Training Program created to bridge community-based outreach and clinical gynecologic care. Designed as the first known formalized gynecologic cancer training for Community Health Workers in the United States, the pilot used a hybrid learning model to equip participants with practical knowledge in prevention, symptom recognition, trauma-informed communication, clinical trial literacy, and care navigation.
The results were exceptionally strong: participants rated the program highly across all quality dimensions, with average scores above 4.7 out of 5, and demonstrated meaningful gains in confidence and knowledge across every measured domain. Just as important, the program showed how well-trained CHWs can serve as trusted connectors between communities and healthcare systems, expanding access, reducing stigma, and improving support for women at greatest risk of disparities in care. The evaluation also laid the groundwork for future scale, with the model positioned for curricular expansion, stronger long-term measurement, and broader deployment across underserved populations.
