In 2024 and 2025, BData worked with AOPA on an ambitious effort to elevate the orthotics and prosthetics profession through data, evidence, and more coordinated strategy. The engagement was rooted in extensive voice-of-customer discovery, including more than 60 interviews, focus groups, and board input, which shaped a strategy intended to be practical, stakeholder-centered, and ready for real-world implementation. The final deliverables included a comprehensive data strategy, an O&P data ecosystem framework, a healthcare quality measures primer, and a set of market and implementation opportunities for AOPA leadership to consider.
At its core, the project focused on helping the profession move from fragmented data practices toward a unified ecosystem capable of generating stronger evidence, improving quality, and supporting long-term recognition of O&P providers as essential healthcare partners. The work also positioned AOPA to expand its leadership role through applied research, data strategy implementation, and new member-facing services built around market intelligence and practice improvement.
